Sunstar has install a significant number of iQstor SAN's over the last six months. These SAN's have included a mix of both Fibre and SATA storage.
iQstor offers two solutions that have the ability to expand with expansion chassis with a choice of Fibre or iSCS attached controllers; single or dual options. In a nutshell each chassis supports a maximum of 15 drives and the 1st chassis can support a single or a dual controller with a choice of 4GB Fibre or Gigabit Ethernet iSCSI.
iQ2880 4Gb Fibre to Fibre Storage System - Simply put this system starts off with a single Fibre controller supporting Fibre drives in the chassis. The subsequent expansion chassis support a choice of Fibre or SATA Drives. (J2880 4Gb FC Switched Expansion Enclosure )
Similarly the iQ2880 4Gb Fibre to SATA II Storage System starts off with a single Fibre controller supporting SATA drives in the chassis. The subsequent expansion chassis support a choice of additional SATA or Fibre Drives. (J2880 4Gb FC Switched Expansion Enclosure.)
The iQ2850 iSCSI Storage System supports a choice of SATA or Fibre Drives. Like the Fibre Channel iQ2880 the iQ2850 iSCSI solution can support single or dual controllers and can expand with the addition of the J2880 Expansion Enclosure.
