PiviStor TL4000 4U LTO Tape Library

Earlier on today I wrote a blog on the PivotStor TL8000, their 8U 96 slot library. let's look at the TL4000, 4U with 48 slots - ½ the size and capacity.

• Total compressed data storage capacity ranges from 38.4 TB (LTO-3HH or LTO-3FH) to 76.8 TB (LTO-4FH).
• Compressed data transfer rates range from 432 GBytes per hour per LTO-3HH drive, 576 GBytes per hour per LTO-3FH drive, and 864 GBs per hour per LTO-4FH drive.
• Single or dual LTO-3HH drive (customer upgradeable to four LTO-3HH drives) with a SCSI or SAS interface
• Single or dual LTO-3FH with either a FC or SCSI interface, or LTO-4FH drive with a FC, SAS or SCSI interface.
• All models include four (4) 12-slot tape cartridge magazines (left-side with mailslot).
• Accessories include customer-installable LTO Ultrium drives (LTO-3HH, LTO-3, and LTO-4) and additional 12-slot tape cartridge magazines.

The PivoStor TL4000 product family is designed with the affordable scalabilty of LTO Ultrium drive format and interface support in mind. The user can easily upgrade their backup and archive solution to up to four LTO-3HH drives, or up to 2 LTO-4, or LTO-3, full-height tape drives.
